New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is among the American League finalists for the Hank Aaron Award, given in each league to the best overall offensive player in each league.

The winners are determined by a combination of votes from a panel of Hall of Famers and a fan vote.

Judge won the award last year after he broke the AL single-season home run record with 62, a record held by another Yankees slugger, Roger Maris. He was also named the AL Most Valuable Player.

Judge saw his season truncated by a right toe injury he suffered while running down a ball at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The right great toe sprain didn’t require surgery, but it took Judge nearly two months to return from the injury. He also missed a week in May with a right hip strain.

In spite of that, Judge had one of the most productive seasons in the AL. He still hit 37 home runs and drove in 75 runs while he slashed .267/.406/.613/1.019 in just 106 games. It was the fewest games he played in a 162-game season since the 102 he played in 2019.

The winner of the award will be announced in November.
