After suffering a concussion against Geona, there were fears regarding Noah Okafor’s ability to feature so soon after the injury. However, a late fitness test has given the Swissman a chance to play for AC Milan on Saturday.

It has been a season of ups and downs for Okafor, but this was the expectation when Milan purchased him from RB Salzburg last summer. The winger was never planned to be the man of the attack at 23.

Instead, the plan was simple. He would be an understudy to Olivier Giroud and Luka Jovic, who would be the main striking options, giving him extra insight into the central role. However, the priority was to offer Stefano Pioli another option to Rafael Leao, with the same learning occurring in the process.

Chances have been few and far between, but when offered chances, he has often taken them, scoring key goals in several fixtures which have either saved the Rossoneri from embarrassment or made himself a late hero.

It seems he could be given another chance this weekend after MilanNews reported that the winger has passed a late fitness test after training regularly with the squad this week. Therefore, he will be available for selection against Cagliari and could look to add to his eight contributions.
